Domonique Curry Appointed as Chief of Staff

The Orleans Parish Communication District is excited to announce the appointment of Domonique Curry, CPE, as Chief of Staff. Domonique is a seasoned emergency communications professional with 15 years of experience in the public safety industry.

During her most recent role as Emergency Communications Center Director for Orange County, Virginia, Domonique developed and provided oversight for operational and administration emergency communication functions to include the county-wide radio system, the procurement for a new computer aided dispatcher and records management system and the construction of a new emergency communication center.

Prior to her position at Orange County ECC, Domonique worked for several years as an Emergency Communications Officer and Supervisor at the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s office, where she evaluated, trained and developed personnel and delegation of duties essential to the function of the ECC.

In her role as Chief of Staff, Domonique will serve as senior advisor to Executive Director Tyrell Morris and provide strategic guidance and oversight on policy and legislative initiatives, manage the agency’s innovation projects and lead collaborative efforts with our regional public safety partners.

Domonique earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Human Resources Concentration from Strayer University and holds an APCO Certified Public Safety Executive (CPE) certification. She will begin her tenure at OPCD on January 20, 2020.
